Disassembly steps prior to cleaning
- Disassembling the pump casing:Loosen and remove the connecting bolts between the pump cover and the pump casing. If the gasket between the pump cover and the pump casing is stuck, gently tap it with a screwdriver to separate the parts.
- Impeller Removal:When removing the pump impeller, it is necessary to measure the rotor's axial end play and radial runout; these measurements help technicians identify vibration at specific locations. Next, remove the impeller retaining nut and the impeller itself, then inspect for any signs of binding or slippage to determine whether repair or replacement is required.
- Next, remove the impeller guide key. Inspect the key for visible deformation, damage, or other defects, and verify that its fit within the keyway meets specifications; repair or replace it if necessary.
- Remove the pump cover and shaft sleeve, then loosen the bearing gland to withdraw the shaft from the bearing housing (note: when tapping the shaft end with a copper rod, keep the impeller nut screwed on to prevent thread damage).

- Clean the impeller and seal rings: Scrape off accumulated scale, rust, and other debris from the inner and outer surfaces of the impeller and the seal rings. Wash them with water or compressed air to ensure no dirt remains.
- Clean the pump casing and mating surfaces: Remove accumulated grease and rust from the mating surfaces of the pump casing. Use a brush or a high-pressure water jet to flush the interior of the centrifugal pump casing, ensuring no residual fluid remains.
- Clean the water seal pipe: Clean the water seal pipe and verify that the passage is clear; clear any blockages immediately if found.
- Clean bearings and bearing shells: Clean the bearing shells and bearings to remove grease and grime. Use gasoline to clean ball bearings. Also, clean accessories such as oil rings and oil level gauges.
- Inspection and repair: During the cleaning process, carefully inspect critical components-such as the impeller, seal rings, and bearings-for wear. Promptly repair or replace any parts found to be severely worn or damaged.

- Protective Oiling: Parts and components not intended for immediate assembly should be coated with oil after cleaning to prevent corrosion.
- Sequential Assembly: Following cleaning, assemble the parts and components one by one in the original order. During assembly, ensure that the fit and tightness of all components are properly checked.
- Test Run and Inspection: Once assembly is complete, start the centrifugal pump for a test run. Monitor the pump's operation and check for any abnormal noise, vibration, or leakage. If any irregularities are detected, stop the pump immediately to inspect and rectify the issue.
