The original boiler room equipment of a large chemical group in Ethiopia frequently experienced excessive vibration, reduced efficiency, water leakage at the seal, and other problems, and the existing boiler feed pump needed to be replaced. The new feed pump not only had to meet the water supply demand of 200 cubic meters per hour, 600 meters head, and water temperature up to 100 degrees Celsius, but also had to control energy consumption costs.

Customer Challenge: Frequent leakage of traditional pumps threatens production safety and costs
The Ethiopian Chemical Group mainly produces fertilizers and basic chemicals. The boiler water supply system in its core process has long been plagued by the wear and tear of traditional multi-stage centrifugal pump seals and frequent water leakage. Leakage not only leads to waste of water resources and energy but also increases the frequency of equipment shutdowns and maintenance, seriously affecting production continuity. The customer needs an alternative solution with high sealing, high efficiency and energy saving, and ultra-long life to ensure stable operation under high temperature and high pressure conditions.
Solution:
After in-depth analysis of the working conditions by our technical team, we found that the original water pump was a segmented balanced disc multi-stage pump with packing seal, the equipment maintenance cycle was too short, and there was a leakage problem. In response to this situation, our company recommends:
1. Use a self-balancing multi-stage centrifugal pump to replace the balanced disc structure, and use an alloy mechanical seal as the sealing form, which effectively extends the maintenance cycle and solves the leakage problem.
2. Optimize the hydraulic model and forge the flow channel section process to effectively extend the maintenance cycle, increase the continuous operation time, reduce maintenance costs, and achieve energy saving and efficiency improvement.
3. Configure sensors such as temperature and vibration meters to provide real-time warnings for bearing temperature, vibration values, etc., to provide a good foundation for timely troubleshooting and extending the service life of the water pump.
