Selection for Changing Filtration Conditions

The pump selection should account for the operating requirements from initial chamber filling to the later filtration stage. Flow rate, discharge pressure and the pump operating curve must be assessed together to achieve a suitable operating range.

Material Selection for Slurry Characteristics

The wetted components should be selected according to the slurry's solid content, particle size, abrasiveness, chemical composition and temperature. Depending on the selected pump model and application, suitable material options may include ductile iron, cast steel, wear-resistant alloys, rubber-lined components or stainless steel.

Wear-Part and Maintenance Considerations

Slurry containing abrasive particles may cause wear to the impeller, casing, liners and other wetted components. Pump construction and wearing-part options should therefore be evaluated according to the slurry properties and expected duty cycle.

Hydraulic Performance Matched to the Application

Flow rate, total head, discharge pressure and motor power should be selected using the pump performance curve and the requirements of the complete system. The selection must also account for pipeline resistance, slurry properties and the maximum allowable pressure of the filter press and connected equipment.

Application-Specific Configuration

The pump configuration can be assessed according to the required duty point, installation arrangement, slurry characteristics, sealing requirements and operating environment. Final specifications are confirmed during technical selection.
