Coal Slurry Pump
The HNYB coal slurry pump is a heavy-duty centrifugal pump designed to handle coal slurry and other abrasive, solids-laden fluids encountered in coal preparation, washing, mining, and mineral processing operations.
It features high flow capacity, high head, low wear rates, high efficiency, excellent resistance to clogging and cavitation, reliable operation, and ease of maintenance. The flow-path components are constructed from special materials offering superior wear and corrosion resistance, while the bearing assembly utilizes slim-profile, oil-lubricated metric bearings; the lubrication and cooling system is optimally designed to ensure the bearings operate at low temperatures.
This pump series offers flexible material options and hydraulic configurations tailored to specific project requirements, enabling it to adapt to a wide range of slurry concentrations, particle sizes, and operating conditions.
Working Principle of Coal Slurry Pump
The coal slurry pump uses centrifugal force to transfer a mixture of water and suspended coal particles through a pressurized pipeline system. The pump converts mechanical energy from the driver into hydraulic energy while its wear-resistant wet-end components are selected to withstand the abrasive characteristics of the slurry.
1. Coal Slurry Enters the Pump
The coal slurry enters the pump through the suction inlet. The actual suction arrangement and allowable operating conditions depend on the selected pump configuration.
2. The Impeller Accelerates the Slurry
The rotating impeller transfers mechanical energy to the slurry. Centrifugal force accelerates the liquid-solid mixture from the impeller eye toward the outer diameter.
3. Hydraulic Energy Is Converted into Pressure
The slurry leaves the impeller and enters the pump casing. The casing hydraulic passage reduces flow velocity and converts part of the velocity energy into pressure energy.
4. Slurry Flows into the Discharge Pipeline
The pressurized coal slurry leaves through the discharge outlet and is transported to the next processing stage, such as a coal preparation, coal washing or slurry handling system.
5. Wear-Resistant Components Protect the Wet End
Because coal slurry can contain abrasive solid particles, the wetted components are configured with suitable wear-resistant materials according to particle size, concentration, hardness and operating conditions.
